about
This is Samantha Schultz’s first single release since her full-length, sophomore album came out in 2011. Initially a love song, it was flipped on its head to be about finding your self-confidence & letting go of the things in your life that may be in your comfort zone, but don’t actually work for you – perfect for the New Year. The live off-the-floor vibe provided by this band of some of Schultz’s closest friends captures the authentic & raw elements of her music that she hopes listeners can relate to, with soul and jazz as the driving force behind the rebirth of her music.
[Verse 1]
Met you in a dream long ago
But never saw you face
To my surprise you materialized
One day when you walked my way
Couldn't believe you were here with me
Knew I wanted just a little taste
So what did we do?
Huh
[Verse 2]
Well we went and fell in love
But each and every day
I felt the way your energy flowed
And it didn't feel the same
Now should I leave you, I don't want to
But I know I shouldn't stay
Boy I'm so over you
But what do I do?
[Pre-Chorus 1]
You're a particular kind of guy
Found out you come and go as you like
Realizing I've wasted my time
On a quick high like you
Oh yeah
[Chorus]
Get out of my head
Let go of my heart
Step out of my bed
I can't stand you fooling me
On the reg with all of your charms
Don't wanna be your baby, baby, baby no more
Ain't gonna be your baby, baby, baby, please no more no
[Verse 3]
Said you love me, said you want me
I believed it was true
Now you won't even look my way
I can't stand it, boy I'm through
I'm worth the time, I'm worth the while
I'd fight for you, go the extra mile
Tell me what did I do?
What did I do?
[Pre-Chorus 2]
Such a particular kind of guy
But it's time for me to go live my life
I'm so done wasting all of my time
On a quick high like you
Boy this is cruel
[Chorus]
Get out of my head
Let go of my heart
Step out of my bed
I can't stand you fooling me
On the reg with all of your charms
Don't wanna be your baby, baby, baby no more
Ain't gonna be your baby, baby, baby, please no more
No more
[Bridge]
And I said
(Get out, get out)
Baby what you doing?
(Get out, get out)
Don't know what I'm proving
(Get out, get out)
Gotta keep it moving right out the door
(Get out, get out)
Baby I can't stand this
(Get out, get out)
No more second chances
I can't do this no more
[Chorus]
Get out of my head
Let go of my heart
Step out of my bed
I can't stand you fooling me
On the reg with all of your charms
Don't wanna be your baby, baby, baby no more
Ain't gonna be your baby, baby, baby, please no more, no
No I don't wanna be your baby, baby, baby no more
Ain't gonna be your baby, baby, baby, please no more
[Outro]
No more, no more
Ooh
I can't do it no more
Yeah, yes
